How much is the deposit and what is it used for?

You will be required to pay a deposit of £250 which is held against any damage to the property, or unpaid dues.

We collect the deposit when you sign the tenancy agreement, and it is held and protected in a government-approved tenancy deposit scheme (my deposits).

When you move out, we will check if you have any money owing and complete a vacation inspection of your room. If there are any outstanding dues or any damage, we will agree to an amount that will be deducted from your deposit. Once this is agreed we must return the remainder of your deposit within 10-days according to UK law.

To avoid having any deductions taken from your deposit you must meet the terms of your tenancy agreement, not damage the property, pay your rent and bills. You can learn more by visiting the UK government’s information pages here - https://www.gov.uk/tenancy-deposit-protection
