How do I access my room?
You will be given a room key and fob when you check in at the start of the tenancy.
How does the door lock deadbolt work?
There is a twist lock on the inside of the door. You can turn this to lock your door. In the event of an emergency if you push down on the handle the door will unlock. This cannot be done from outside.
How to my appliances work (microwave, hob, fridge, heater)?
If you have any questions or need any help with using the appliances please speak to a member of the accommodation team.
How do the window vents work?
The window vents can be used to allow air into the room. The window vents will open either by sliding or using the lever to lift up.
How do I keep my room clean? Do you offer a cleaning service?
During the tenancy period you are responsible for the cleaning of your room. Vacuum cleaners can be borrowed at reception. If you require a room clean please speak to a member of the site accommodation team. There will be a charge for this service.
What do I do with my rubbish/recycling?
All general waste and recycling needs to be taken to the bin store.
Am I allowed guests to stay?
You are able to have one guest stay a maximum of 3 nights within every 7 days. All guest must be signed in at reception and must be escorted around the building at all times. Guests are not allowed to have use of room keys or to be in the building without you at anytime.
Am I allowed a pet?
Pets are not allowed, sorry.
Am I allowed to smoke in my room?
No smoking or vaping is permitted in rooms or anywhere indoors of of the accommodation.
What time should I avoid making noise?
Not permitted for any noise to be heard outside the room between 10.30pm and 8am and outside of these hours not to be a nuisance or annoyance to any neighbours.
Do I have to pay Council Tax?
As a full time student you will not have to pay council tax.
Do I need a TV Licence?
You will be required to purchase a licence if you are planning on watching live TV or BBC iPlayer. All the latest information on TV licences can be found at www.tvlicensing.co.uk.
