You need a large plot of land for a GSHP. Just how much land depends on the size of your property and whether you opt for horizontal loops or vertical boreholes. Horizontal loops are most common and cheaper to install, and require anything up to 1,200 square metres. You will also need plant room space for the pump which is larger than a traditional boiler, sometimes as large as a kitchen appliance.
