We usually ask for information about the nature of the case and then investigate whether there might be a viable professional negligence claim which we could fund on a no win no fee basis. We usually ask to see relevant  documents relating to the main issues.

We are looking to see that there is a good enough case on the merits and in terms of value for us to fund, according to our funding criteria.  In most cases where the merits and value are sufficient we will offer funding but this is ultimately a commercial decision as to the level of risk we are prepared to take.

There is no charge for the assessment process so if we do not offer funding or you decide not to proceed with us there will be no charge.

Our assessment process is driven by the information we are receiving and how the case appears at any given time when compared to our funding criteria. As the issues become clearer we may become more or less interested in a case. We cannot guarantee that we will spend any particular length of time on your enquiry, or that we will read and/or assess every document which you send to us as this may not be justified as part of a free assessment process.

As we are not acting for you under a retainer and are not charging you during the assessment process we cannot accept responsibility for your case unless and until funding is offered and retainer is created. As a result if there are any time limits or things which require attention whilst going through an assessment process with us you would need to agree a retainer with us (or another firm) to deal with those issues.
