In Journalism classes we cover a vast selection of important practises, including news and feature writing, interview conduct, and photo taking, but also essential topics like the ethics of photojournalism and news vs. fake news.

We spent the final week working towards a collaborative newspaper, where in groups of four, they were tasked with creating a name, audience, concept, and angle for a print paper. Individually, they had to write a news article and a feature article, with a total word count of 1000 words, which had to fit under their group’s chosen newspaper brief. The topics ranged from arts and lifestyle, to sport, to economics which was so exciting as a teacher to see such a varied selection of interests and expertise.
